Bios:

GST | plays in a groovy style that combines the complexity and improvisation of jazz with the energy of rock: it’s either high brow rock or low brow jazz, you can decide. Formed in 1999 with a gig at St. Paul Turf Club’s Clown Lounge gig, early gigs were as varied as loud bar or quiet dinner sets, and included hosting original multi-media series Fret, Frame and Chatter. Band members came and went, and in 2004 the group released “Bug Town,” an album of mostly originals that received regular airplay on the Current. Highlights since then include the release of chilled-out “Jazz for Dad,” recorded at Crazy Beast studios in NE Minneapolis, a collaboration with singer Natalie Lovejoy for a Ramones tributes at Lee’s Liquor Lounge, the 2010 release of “Now and Then,” a 10-year retrospective of the band and collaborations with dancers Erinn Liebhard and Molly Stoltz, including series “Visual Grooves,” where dance artists are provided opportunities to improvise to jazz and groove music in a loosely structured setting. Staying true to their roots, GST continues to play Palmer’s, Memory Lanes, Lee’s Liquor Lounge and Bosso Poetry Company at Dusty’s Bar in NE Minneapolis.

Leanna Browne | holds a B.A. in Psychology and Special Major in Dance & Black Studies from Swarthmore College. During her time at Swarthmore, she was fortunate to work with different choreographers such as Idan Porges and Hadar Katz and was active in Rhythm ‘n’ Motion (RnM), the Tri-College student dance company rooted in the styles of the African Diaspora. As an emerging professional artist, she is delving deeper into performance and choreography and is especially interested in using dance for social change. In 2017, Leanna received her M’Singha Wuti-level certification in Umfundalai, a contemporary African dance technique, which enables her to share Umfundalai with recreational dance communities. She is grateful for the opportunity to continue working with Erinn and engaging in the Twin Cities dance community!

Doug Hooker | graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Dance. He is very thankful to have had a wide variety of professional performing opportunities, such as dancing with the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps in Santa Clara, California, and touring with the Broadway show Blast!, both nationally and internationally, including Japan and the 2012 World Expo in South Korea. Works of note include: Dancing People Company in Ashland, Oregon under the direction of Robin Stiehm, Mathew Janczewski’s ARENA DANCES, Threads Dance Project, and Paula Mann.

Genevieve D Johnson | has been teaching, choreographing and producing dance for 18 years.  Trained in classical, contemporary and American  vernacular dance forms, Genevieve most recently appeared in “Rhythmically Speaking 2017,” Erinn Liebhard’s “in:habit,” Patrick Cabaret’s “Raw Material” and Bryant Lake Bowl’s “9×22 Dance/Lab: February 2017.” She has also appeared in music videos for local band “Meridian Incident” with dancer Brian Evans and dance photography projects with Blake Nellis and Douglas Beasley. Most recently, Genevieve began working with Enticing Entertainment, performing in large, local events.

O’Calla Joslyn | O’Calla’s professional work ranges from entertainment to concert dance. Her entertainment work has included choreography for fashion shows (Resurgent 2010, Voltage 2011, Black Hearts Ball 2014), clubs (First Avenue 2002-2005) and production company Enticing Entertainment (2012-present). She has taught at numerous locations including Energy Dance Center, Victoria’s Dance Productions (2008-2014), and Zenon Dance Company & School (2006-2008). She had the opportunity to dance for April Sellers Dance Collective (2010-2012) and has been dancing with and for Erinn Liebhard since September of 2016.  She is elated to be dancing to the Charlie Brown Christmas album.

Callie Rosenbaum | earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota in Spring 2017. She has worked with various local choreographers and teaches various styles of dance in the Twin Cities area. She is so grateful to be working and grooving with Erinn and cast again!

Jesse Schmitz-Boyd | is a dance artist based in St. Paul. He is currently a company member with Alternative Motion Project and has performed locally with Off Leash Area. Jesse recently formed the performance group Rogue & Rabble Dance, presenting at the 2017 Minnesota Fringe Festival. He feels like a Linus but in reality he’s a Sally Brown.

Crissy Tolson | has been grooving with Erinn Liebhard for about a year now and couldn’t be happier! She graduated with a BFA in Dance from George Mason University in 2013 and since then has danced for numerous Twin Cities artists such as Borealis Dance, Anything Everything,  Rebecca Tanner, Joanna Lees, Non Edward & Missa Kes and Elsie Martin. She also produced her first show Duality this summer in the Minnesota Fringe Festival.

The Charlie Brown Christmas works were developed in collaboration with a cast from the Zenon Dance Zone program, who will perform the works in their 12/15 and 12/16 performances at 8:00pm at the Zenon Studios. Cast:

Nora Anderson | graduated summa cum laude from Beloit College in 2013, with departmental honors and an award in dance performance. She has since performed in various works around the Twin Cities, and notably produced, choreographed, and performed in a Fringe Festival show this past summer. She has recently returned to school in pursuit of a doctoral degree in physical therapy.

Amber Todd | danced with the Hamline University’s Dance Ensemble for four years under the artistic director Kaori Kenmotsu as she earned a B.A. in both Art and Elementary Education. During those four years she worked with several local choreographers including Taja Will and Roxane Wallace. This spring she danced with Space Heater, a collaboration of Nate Gebhard and Jon Dahl in their debut show, Livingroom. She is a huge Charlie Brown fan and was excited to work with Erinn’s jazzy style to one of her family’s favorite Christmas films.
